went to the city this afternoon to pick up our bibs/bags for the marathon, with crummy feelings. i knew before picking up my bag that none of my stuff (bib and tag) wouldn’t cross the finish line tomorrow and that knowingness plain sucked.
everything happens for a reason, but going through this feeling of failure still sucks regardless…and it’s just going to suck even more tomorrow when i’m there watching people cross that line and i’m on the side behind the fences.
aside from feelings, the expo was cool to walk around for a bit. it was a gorgeous, clear day in the city and warm enough to wear a tank top and shorts. ultra marathon man, dean karnazes, made an appearance at 2 o’clock as well, but we didn’t stay long enough to see him. there were sample drinks like jamba juice and cytomax in the tents, along with road runner sports and other organizations participating in the event.
cytomax is really good – apple, pomegranite and orange flavors are yummy!
didn’t do much outdoors today since i’m still a gimp and john needed to go to bed early so he’s well rested for his marathon tomorrow. walking around the expo for a couple hours started becoming quite painful towards the end, so i’m learning i have a 2 hour max tolerance for standing at the moment.
