loving this jam by ne-yo @ the moment.

Just checking in a post.

I’ve been wordpress quiet because I’ve been too busy to update/write. My head has been hurting since Saturday and I can’t figure out why. Also, I’ve been stressing about what to do regarding commute/living situation. Things are still up in the air. I’m just going with the flow and whatever happens, happens.

Picked up my Macbook Pro today – I’m so stoked! I’m really looking forward to the near future. I know it’s going to be a challenge and will take up lots of hours. It’s all good. I’m so ready for it…bring it on!

Favorite jam @ the moment – hearing it makes me smile. hearing it makes me wanna dance. hearing it makes me happier :)

Aw geez, I’m speechless after watching this video. Going that fast…he/she should be on a race track, not public highway. Crazy.

I came across this while doing a search on Google for a ‘Suzuki GSX-R 600′. It’s the first youtube link on the first page.

Cost of commuting and time have been on my mind lately. Since I’ll be working in the city soon, I’m considering getting a motorcycle to save on gas/bart. I calculated the cost of commute for a year, which comes out to ~$5,500 (if I decided to park in the city with my car, the commute cost increases by another few thousand :| ).

Rather than paying Bart and Gas Stations that much money, I would like to put that $5K into a bike that I can eventually re-sell (assuming I don’t wreck and total it).

Pros:

– Cost of gas for riding a bike would be less than driving a car = spending less on gas

– It’s legal for bikes to lane split in California = spending less time stuck in traffic on 101 and faster commute

– Parking for bikes all day in the city is $2 (from what someone told me) = convenience of parking near the office and not having to pay $30/day for car garage parking

What’s holding me back is the risk of getting into a serious accident, having broken bones or irreparable damage to myself and medical bills. This is a major reason why I’m hesitant to buy a motorcycle.

Another option is to move to the city, however rent in the city isn’t any cheaper. Plus, I’d have to pay an extra few hundred per month for a dedicated parking spot. I’m not a city girl and currently love my suburban neighborhood where it’s peaceful, quiet and almost always sunny. Plus, I feel very safe where I’m at right now. I can walk around at night without an extreme fear of someone jumping out to mug me.

I would like to not leave my neighborhood, but will if it no longer makes sense to live here. :(
