movie night at my place. rather than popping in a DVD or purchasing a movie from On-Demand, I had a movie on my laptop, hooked up the monitor cable to my TV and used my TV as a second monitor – and it turned out almost great. Can you guess what we watched tonight by the picture below?!

I totally forgot that I needed external speakers since factory speakers aren’t that loud, so we watched on my big screen and had to listen to the movie from my laptop…dOh!
thanks to the guys for bringing over dinner, drinks and dessert for the evening. because of them, my fridge is the fullest it’s ever been since I moved in in April.

so John pulled the trigger…the LCD TV trigger that is. Congrats darlin’! 
On Monday, while John went to Costco to pick up his futon, I found a deal for the Samsung 5271 on Amazon.
J&R put the TV on clearance for the price of $1799…woohoo.
So, for the past couple days, Mark and I have been trying to persuade John to just get that TV. hehe, thanks Mark. It’s a great deal for the specs:
Mark and I both have that same Samsung series, 4671, and love it. The only thing we both wish we could change is the size – we want the 52″. In LCD TV world, bigger is better.
I called John around noon and jokingly said, “Did you get your TV yet?!!!” I think at that point John was really sick of hearing me ask and his response was, “OK, OK! I’ll get the TV. Geez, feels like I’m buying you a present” 
pPpPBbBLLLTtTT! whatever! hahaha.
At least his worries of getting a TV is over. He’s been looking for the past few years and has been TV less for the last 2 months. In a few weeks, he will have cable and internet once again wooohoo! Goodbye to movies on his 12″ laptop when I’m in L.A.

Decided to have dim sum at ABC in Foster City for lunch since John’s never been. It’s a decent place… somewhat satisfying. We got there @ 12:30 and boy, was it crowded! Good thing for us is that we were only a couple, so we only had to wait about 10 minutes before getting seated. As we were eating, I saw people who came before us get seated about 15 minutes after us – geez! Our table wasn’t the most pleasant seat in the house b/c we were in a walking aisle by ourselves near the bathroom. but it was probably the best in regards to food selection. Every single cart had to pass by us to get to both sides of the restaurant
Not much else for the rest of the day. John knocked out for a few hours due to MSG overdose, while I hung out on the couch watching the olympics and organizing digital pictures. Also, John left back to L.A. tonight – bummer.
G$ is coming over soon to loan me some books on python and SQL server – Man, I’m so lucky to have such nice friends Gonna go make some Ramen + egg + broccoli now…goodnight!

what started off as a happy friday quickly turned sad…alex passes by my cube, gives me a glance and says, “i’m seriously bummed.” – we were both thinking the same thing…ditto that, dude!
not a lot of words are running through my head… just staring at my screen and feeling down knowing that Tim is leaving – very sad.
his notice also prompts me to send out that follow up email… the ball might start rollin’ soon on another opportunity.
it’s thursday! assuming the usual suspects are around, that means it’s a night to meet up and workout…

we decided to meet up in at my place around 6:30 and do a run around redwood shores. gee and nooj came over and nooj noticed wii play in the TV stand – haha, plans immediately changed from running in my hood to wii time.
played wii play a bit before moving on to starwars. nooji and i ridiculously battled each other rather than destroying villains for the most part until i went to grab some food for dinner (costco’s pizza, broccoli and chicken wings!).
after dinner was when we decided to do some sort of real physical activity and walked the 2.5mile loop in the neighborhood. it was a nice night and didn’t get dark til 9:30. skipped some rocks, er, attempted to, on the water and headed back to catch America’s Best Dance Crew. Season 2 isn’t as exciting to watch as season 1, imo.
oh yea! gee brought over his new mac notebook – talk about dope! got major laughs playing with his webcam and the software. apple has such a cool notebook…i want one!
had my milk and cookies (lacey’s dark chocolate and almond cookies tonight – oh yum)… and then the guys headed home – good times, always
time for bed!
