yesterday evening around 6 i was waiting outside for g$ to swing by and then head on over to walnut creek to pick up the couches. i see his black truck pull up and i’m pointing to an available parking space to let him know to park there. he passes it up and i see him pointing back… i’m like, huh?
totally didn’t get it.
i look back and i’m like, what? another black truck was behind him and, as it got closer, i realized it was humby!!!!!!!!
geez, a fuzzy feeling came over me. it was a great surprise to see humby coming out to help too and i felt so grateful again…appreciative for such great friends. humby just got his truck a few weeks ago and i was a bit worried of anything happening to his new car… humby’s attitude about it – dude, it’s a truck! haha, nice
that moment is still fresh in my mind…and what’s happened in the past two days has reminded me of how fortunate i am – it’s just moving, but it’s the thought of having friends who shell out their time and efforts to help that makes me smile so big that my eyes look majorly chinky.
both g$ and hum drive their trucks across the bridge to walnut creek to get the couches (loaned to me by my brother-in-law…thanks~!) and the only furniture i’ve ever bought since moving to california (my closet furniture
). everything fit perfectly onto both trucks after some great packing maneuvering by the guys – they’re wonderful!
drove back to redwood shores to unload and then went out to grab some late dinner. we hit up san mateo to see grab a bite at bacio cafe, but their kitchen was closed and nico recommended to check out Tres Amigos – so we did.
Tres Amigos is really good! i usually never opt for mexican food just b/c i rarely like it, but Tres Amigos is a place i wouldn’t mind going back to. We each ordered an entree and added an order of nachos too.
ordering nachos turned out to be a mistake…not b/c it was bad, but b/c the serving sizes there are HUGE. one entree is enough to feed two people. the nachos tasted great, btw. next time we’ll know
now everything is pretty much done for moving. the rest is my job to unpack and organize things the way i like.
still can’t get over that feeling… i got madd luv for you guys – thanks so much!
john’s very grateful as well to yall! gonna pick him up tonight and figure out what we’ll do with our (now free and unplanned) weekend. thank you, thank you, thank you!
